The Dresden Dolls

Okay, so I'm just dropping by this community to squee, but hey. Revel with me?
A few friends and I attended the show at Buster's on Sunday, and on top of it being an unbelievable concert, my friends and I also had a pretty surreal experience.
There's this great little café/shoppe in Downtown Lexington called Third Street Stuff, and we were having lunch there when my roommate, who once lived in Lexington for several years, suggested via Twitter that AFP should swing by there because she'd probably love it. And about 20 minutes later, Amanda and Super Kate walked in.
We mostly left the two to their business, but as we were all leaving, we got to chat with them a bit. The picture in the icon used for this entry was taken there.
The best part? While we were about to part ways at Third Street Stuff, I mentioned to Amanda that Glass Slipper is a very important song to me, and that it would mean the world if she and Brian were to play it that evening. At the concert, getting toward the end of the show, AFP introduced the next song they were about to play by talking about these girls she'd met at at café earlier and how one of them made a special request. They then performed Glass Slipper.
( Video; apologies for the audio.Collapse )
Needless to say, I am still pretty much in absolute awe over the whole thing. It was just a beautiful experience.
Thank you to my roommate, a_papier_mache, for the video and for her help in bringing Amanda Fucking Palmer to say hello at Third Street Stuff. ^_^
Long Live The Punk Cabaret! <3
